hits out at Rajini & Karunanidhi
The
Rally for Cauvery water turned political at the end. The Kalayulaga Cauvery
Association President and Film Director Mr.BharathiRaja lashed out at film
star Rajinikant for his counter fast program in Chennai on Sunday. He said
Rajini could not understand the feeling of Tamils as he is a Kannadiga and
charged that Rajini is trying to create fissures in Tamil untiy. In an
emotional address he appealed the Centre for dismissing the Karnataka
Government and take immediate steps to release the Cauvery water to
TamilNadu. He also charged that DMK president Karunanidhi is politicizing
the Cauvery issue.
Mr.BharathiRaja was addressing a Public meeting at the end of the
Cauvery Rally.
The
massive rally, which was the center stone of controversy in TamilNadu
Politics over the week, went off peacefully without any incidents.
Different
People from the film industry addressed the rally urging the release of
water and to stop the Power to Karnataka.
Film
Actor Mr.Vijayakant appealed for Release of Water and in an indirect
reference to actor RajiniKant said no one could threaten us saying the Tamil
Lives are at danger in Karnataka.
The
Public meeting ended at 10:30PM and the security officials heaved a sigh of
relief as it went off peacefully.

Flags off the Rally
Veteran
Film Director BharathiRaja flagged off the Neyveli Rally to urge the Center
and Karnataka governments to release the Cauvery water to TamilNadu. The
rally in Neyveli is also to urge the NLC to stop power to Karnataka.
Karnataka gets about 200MW of Power from Neyveli.
The
star studded rally, which had been in controversy and hectic political
parleys during this week, finally went off peace fully. The Entire Tamil
Film Industry was present in the rally. The assembly of the stars and the
massive gathering of the people is the first of its kind in Neyveli. Amidst
huge security the film personalities walked along the 5km route and handed
over the memorandum to the NLC Chairman.
Directors
Balumahendra, Shankar, Balachandar director-actor Pathipan, Bhagiaraj,
Manivanan actors KamalHassan, Vijayakant, Sarathkumar and numerous other
actors, actresses, directors participated in the rally. Slogans urging
Release of water and to stop the NLC Power to Karnataka were raised.

a counter fast to this rally.

Over 7,000 members of the Tamil film industry assembled in Neyveli on
Saturday evening for taking out a rally to condemn Karnataka's refusal to
release Tamil Nadu's share of Cauvery water.
A
delegation of film artistes, including some top stars, will hand over a
memorandum to the Neyveli Lignite Corporation Chairman Jayaraman calling for
stoppage of power supply to Karnataka later in the day.
Eariler
in Chennai the convoy of buses was flagged off by veteran film Director
Bharati Raaja.
Conspicuous
by his absence, of course, was superstar Rajnikanth, who will hold a fast in
Chennai on Sunday.
Kamal
Haasan, another leading light of the Tamil film industry, is likely to join
the rally in Neyveli.

Mammoth
congregation of People in Neyveli
Fans,
Farmers and the People from different parts of TamilNadu assembled in
Neyveli in one of the Biggest ever assembly of people in this town.
Amidst unprecedented security, people assembled in the rally route in large
numbers. Barricades were erected and Police officers are on tight vigil.
The
rally will end near the NLC Corporate office and top stars will present a
memorandum to the Neyveli Chairman Jayaraman urging him to stop the NLC
power to Karnataka. Later they will address a public meeting in the Helipad
grounds.
Even
as rain threatens to play spoil sport, Tamil film Actor Napolean said that
the stars would complete the task even if Rain pours.
